Edit PDF

A Word-style PDF editor: format text, copy and paste text boxes, use lists, tables, find and replace, the format painter, links and comments — plus images, shapes, highlights and freehand ink.

Choose a file to get started. It is processed on your device and never uploaded.

What you can do

  • Edit the PDF’s own text: click a paragraph, heading, list or table cell and retype it in the same style — the old words are removed from the file
  • Design like Canva: ready-made text styles, 12 shapes, stamps, signature blocks and page colours
  • Smart guides snap objects to the page and to each other; layers, lock and group keep designs in order
  • Style images with rounded corners, filters, flips and frames, and space letters for headings and labels
  • Word-style text: bold, italic, colours, sizes, highlight, superscript and subscript on any words you select
  • A styles gallery — Title, Heading 1–3, Quote, Caption — and spell check as you type
  • Bullet and numbered lists, justified text, line spacing, shading and borders
  • Copy, cut and paste text boxes and objects — across pages and from other apps
  • Format painter, change case, find and replace, and undo for every step
  • Insert tables, images, shapes, arrows, highlights, links, dates, symbols and comments
  • Arrange, align and multi-select objects, with gridlines that snap

Edit PDF: questions and answers

Can I edit the existing text, not just add new text?

Yes. Choose Edit text and every paragraph, heading, list and table cell on the page is outlined. Click one and it becomes a text box in the same size, style, colour and position. When you save, the original words are taken out of the PDF itself, so nothing is left hidden underneath.

Can I design a PDF like in Canva?

Yes. The Elements panel adds headings, quotes and labels, shapes such as stars, arrows and speech bubbles, stamps like Approved and Paid, signature blocks and page colours. Objects snap to smart guides as you drag them, and the Layers panel reorders, locks and groups them.

Can I copy and paste text boxes?

Yes. Select one or more objects and press Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V, or use the Copy and Paste buttons. Paste on any page, and paste text or images copied from other apps too.

Which Word features does the PDF editor have?

Bold, italic, underline and strikethrough, font size and colour, bullet and numbered lists, left, centre, right and justified alignment, line spacing, shading and borders, change case, format painter, find and replace, tables, hyperlinks, comments, date and symbol insertion, and arrange and align.

Will my edits look the same in other PDF readers?

Yes. Text, tables and shapes are written into the PDF itself, links become clickable and comments become standard PDF notes that Acrobat, Preview and browsers show.

Are my files uploaded?

No. pdf-m8 processes documents in your browser, on your own device. Files are never sent to a server, so confidential documents stay private.
